IEMCA high-pressure coolant system with bar feeder

Benefits of the IEMCA high-pressure coolant unit

01

The IEMCA high-pressure coolant unit is designed for seamless integration with an automatic bar feeder and enables efficient supply of high-pressure coolant to the machining process.

02

Unified control panel. The bar feeder control panel includes a dedicated section for monitoring the operating status of the high-pressure coolant unit. The operator can therefore control its operation from a single location.

03

Minimal space requirements. The compact high-pressure unit is optimized for installation beneath the bar feeder. It therefore takes up minimal space without disrupting the workstation layout. Neat cable and pipe routing is provided by a cable tray located at the rear of the bar feeder.

04

Configurable design. The technical parameters of the unit can be adapted to the specific production process, machining type and application requirements. This makes it possible to select a configuration that matches the needs of the specific CNC lathe and production operation.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about IEMCA high-pressure coolant units, their versions and integration with the bar feeder.

What is an IEMCA high-pressure coolant unit?

It is a high-pressure system for working with coolant with different levels of contamination, designed for integration with an IEMCA bar feeder. It combines cartridge filtration, unit-status monitoring and compact installation under the bar feeder.

What is the difference between Clear Line 50 and Blue Line 100?

Clear Line 50 is intended for coolants with a low level of contamination, while Blue Line 100 is intended for coolants with fine chips from materials such as aluminium and brass. Blue Line 100 has a larger 100 l tank, a 180 µm pre-filter and an outlet pressure of 80–120 bar, whereas Clear Line 50 has a 50 l tank, no pre-filter and an outlet pressure of 80 bar. The technical parameters can be selected according to the production process, machining type and specific requirements.

What pressure, flow rate and viscosity can the systems handle?

Clear Line 50 delivers a maximum outlet pressure of 80 bar and Blue Line 100 80–120 bar. Both systems have a maximum outlet flow of 25 l/min and work with coolant viscosity up to 22 cSt. The SOLO versions have the same values as the standard versions.

How does the filtration work and does it require maintenance?

The units use cartridge filters with a large filtration area and do not have sludge tanks that require maintenance. Sensors alert the operator when the filters need to be cleaned or replaced.

Where is the unit installed and how is it controlled?

The unit is compact and installed under the IEMCA bar feeder, so it takes up minimum space. It is controlled from the bar feeder panel, which has a dedicated section for the unit, while cables and piping are neatly routed through the cable tray at the rear of the bar feeder.

Which IEMCA bar feeders can the high-pressure unit be installed on?

The integrated unit can be installed on the following bar feeders: Elite Zero, Elite 112, Elite 220, Smart 320, Boss 338, Boss 552.

Can the unit be used without an IEMCA bar feeder?

Yes. The SOLO versions (Clear Line 50 SOLO and Blue Line 100 SOLO) are independent of the IEMCA bar feeder. They can be installed on any lathe, machining centre or bar feeder, including retrofit installation on machines already in operation, and offer the same performance as the standard versions.

What does the unit monitor and how does it alert the operator?

In real time, it monitors the operating status of the high-pressure system, including key parameters such as coolant temperature, and displays it in a dedicated section of the bar feeder panel. In the event of a machine fault message, it alerts the operator so they can respond quickly, and it also indicates when the filters need to be cleaned or replaced.

Can the unit energy consumption be monitored?

Yes. IEMCA supplies an energy consumption monitoring kit that can be used to calculate the power consumption of the high-pressure unit and keep energy use under control.

Can the filter be cleaned during operation?

Yes. The unit can be equipped with a so-called Duplex, which allows the coolant flow to be diverted to a second vessel with another filter. The contaminated filter in the first vessel can then be removed and replaced/washed without interrupting operation.
